What to Do FIRST After Getting Engaged

Congratulations on your engagement! 

Whether the proposal was expected or a surprise….you are HERE!!! 

Maybe you have already set a date…..Maybe not.  Either way….What do you do next?  If you are like many newly engaged couples, you start trolling the internet for ideas on style, planning, etc.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH!!!

Before you start checking out what others have done, your very first step to planning your wedding is….

STEP 1:  FIGURE OUT YOUR BUDGET!

What can you afford as a couple?  Will parents, family members, or friends gift you funds for your big day?

It is SUPER important that TOGETHER you figure out what you can REALISTICALLY afford.

Questions to consider?

1.       Number of guests

2.       Lunch, Dinner

3.       Casual, Black Tie, or somewhere in between?

4.       What elements (or activities) are most important (i.e., food, bar, music, photo booth, games, etc.)?

5.       Local Wedding or Destination wedding?  (Hint:  Destination doesn’t have to be international.  Consider a US Destination Wedding)
